Calculation notes

How combat kills are calculated

Each point of damage normally gives 4 XP in the chosen Attack, Strength or Ranged skill. Defensive and shared styles distribute that XP differently. Direct combat damage also gives 1.33 Hitpoints XP per damage.

For finite monsters, divide XP remaining by XP per damage and Hitpoints, then round up to a whole kill. For Gemstone Crab, apply its 0.875 multiplier and round damage up. Gemstone Crab is calculated from continuous damage instead of a fabricated kill count. Accuracy, max hit and gear change training time.

Attack against sand crabs

An accurate melee kill against a standard 60 Hitpoints monster awards 240 Attack XP before the final whole-kill rounding.

Calculate combat kills

Combat XP mechanics and representative monster stats: OSRS Wiki Combat Options, its combat training guides and Gemstone Crab. Special damage such as poison, venom and dwarf multicannon damage can award different or no XP.
